
As per latest report issued by International Emission Trading Association(IETA)
out of 181 countries and European Union (EU) which have signed to contract
China accounts to 73% CDM selling in 2007 . India is way behind due to small
project size and less awareness about market potential and mechanism of conversion
of CDM in to CER Units. Britain is the biggest buyer of CER. As per projections
of IETA by 2012, China will have 66% share and India will have16% share closely
followed by Brazil at 12% Share. Asia accounts for 80% of CER which 75% will
come from China. As per data Of 2007 global carbon trade market doubled in
2007 and the current volume now is Euro 47 billions.
